K+K Palais Hotel in Vienna
Two magnificent baroque palaces, the Upper and Lower Belvedere, and its vast gardens are amongst the most beautiful baroque buildings in the world and offer a fantastic view of Vienna. The former residence of the Austrian imperial family is one of Europe’s largest baroque palaces. With its ceremonial rooms, the “Wagenburg”, a collection of imperial carriages, the beautiful park as well as the oldest zoo (founded in 1752) this place attracts visitors from all over the world.
Museum of Fine Arts (Kunsthistorisches Museum)
Initially the museum was built to house the impressive collection of the imperial family. Today it is home to one of the most distinguished art collections, picture gallery and the world’s largest Bruegel collection. Located at the Ring Straße; estimated travel time 15 minutes by public transport.
Natural History Museum (Naturhistorisches Museum)
The architectural twin to the oppositely situated museum of Fine Arts invites you to a journey through nature's diversity, from small insects, precious stones and minerals to gigantic dinosaurs. This museum is also 15 minutes from the hotel by public transport.
Museums Quarter MQ
One of the world’s largest cultural complexes, housing a multitude of museums and cultural organisations (the best known being the Leopoldmuseum, Museum for Modern Art, the “Kunsthalle” and Zoom – the children’s museum) as well as different restaurants, cafés and art shops. A visit to Vienna’s amusement park is an absolute must when visiting the city. The underground U1 takes you directly to the Prater with its famous Giant Ferris Wheel and the Liliput-Bahn. Approximately 20 minutes by public transport.
A visit to one of Vienna’s many Heuriger is a definite must for wine connoisseurs. Most are situated on the outskirts of Vienna, around 30 minutes by public transport. The best known are in Grinzing, Neustift, Kahlenbergdörfl und Stammersdorf (Weingut Wieninger).
